Donation Request – submitted by Autumn Pajama from PixieCaves

help Autumn get a service dog!!

Hello everyone!! I’m 17 and I have severe PTSD. Recently my family, doctors, and I decided that a PTSD service dog would aid in my recovery (for a while we‘re been trying different medicines, therapy, and doctors, but nothing has helped yet). But, my family can’t afford on, as they are (at cheapest) 6,000 dollars. My lovely partner set up a fundraiser on GoFundMe to help raise money so I can afford my service dog and recover. We’ve already raised enough money for the deposit, 500 dollars, and I’ve been paired with a beautiful Australian shepherd who is now in training for me. However, we still have a long way to go. If you could share this or possibly donate, it would mean so so much. Thank you!!! Feel free to message me if you have questions or anything.

I also have handmade dog brooches in my shop for sale, and I donate all the proceeds to my fundraisers.

Classy Small to Medium Dog Collar – vintage metal belt – upcycled

This is absolutely a one of a kind collar! This refined collar is made from linked amber-look links connected by stamped metal links. I haunt the thrift stores and find the coolest belts that will become the MOST fabulous collars! This is recylcing and upcycling at its finest 🙂

This collar can be fashioned to fit any small to medium. It would look absolutely fabulous on a short coated elegant neck breed such as greyhounds, vizslas, whippets, Italian greyhounds. It has no stretch and no adjustment, so measure neck size carefully, then let me know.

Sturdy hardware makes this functional as well as fashionable. The metal links between conchos appear strong and sturdy, but with extreme force they may separate, so I would not recommend this for very strong dogs in high-danger situations. Will include hardware for leash attachment. Conchos measure roughly 1.25 inches across.

My 10-yr old daughter, my sister, and I form the Fish Creek Finery trio. My daughter fashions woven potholders and braided / beaded bookmarks to support Child Fund International. My sister is a lung transplant survivor who is limited in her physical activities but NOT in her need for creativity. She fashions the jewelry on Fish Creek’s site – beaded dog and cat collars and beautiful necklaces and bracelets for their human companions. I craft the dog coats and vintage belt collars.

Together we have a lot of fun . . .and we hope that you enjoy seeing our labors of love 🙂

THANKS FOR LOOKING IN OUR SHOP!

20% of all collar proceeds go to pet rescue charities, where even small gifts can make a big difference in a pet’s life.

Four Directions to the Wind MultiMetal Etched Cuff Bracelet with Cold Connections – Sirens and Sailors Collection – Supports GHHSA

Quick Facts:

This etched cuff, a Butterfly Sundries original design, is inspired by old nautical maps! Red brass, yellow brass and copper pieces are joined securely together with brass rivets creating beautiful contrast in this statement piece. Length is approximately 6.5 inches and the width (at the widest point) is approximately 1.75 inches.

The Story:
I still remember the sense of awe the first time I saw a tall ship in person. I felt swept away by the romance of old ships, stories of pirates and nautical myths. As I started my research for the development of my Sirens and Sailors Collection I came across images of old maps with “blowing wind faces” and artistic suns with the compass points. From those old maps came my inspiration for this new cuff bracelet, affectionately named “Four Directions to the Wind.” I hope you’ll love it as much as I do!

Made from copper and brass sheets, this bracelet cuff has been cut to size, had its rough edges smoothed, and then it was polished. The design was hand-rendered and then gently placed into an acid bath which ate away the undesired portions. Once taken from the bath it was washed, antiqued to bring out the beauty revealed by its ordeal, and hammered by hand into shape.

Each yellow brass sun ray was cut, by hand, with a jeweler’s saw. The sharp edges were filed by hand and then it was polished prior to etching. A similar process was followed for the red brass sun face.

Once the individual pieces were completed and shaped, they were put together, drilled and riveted to create one complete piece. Then I faceted the bracelet by hand to create texture.

Copper and brass do, of course, over time develop an attractive patina. This is part of the beauty of the materials. The cuff does have a thin protective layer of wax to protect it, but expect the beautiful colors to develop over time (occasional polishing will keep your bracelet shiny and new-looking, if desired).

From beginning to end, this item is handmade with love… with all the attention you deserve!

*Please Note* This item comes gift wrapped in tissue paper tied with hemp cord finished with a nautical knot, for your gift-giving pleasure!

This bracelet is part of my exclusive Sirens and Sailors Collection which supports Butterfly Sundries’ June-August 2014 Featured Charity, Grays Harbor Historical Seaport Authority (they receive 10% of the sale profits), a Washington state charity which offers educational, vocational, recreational and ambassadorial activities and experiences which promote and preserve the maritime history of Grays Harbor, the Pacific Northwest and our nation while serving the needs of the community.

OOAK Bracelet with Etched Lotus Flowers on Yellow Brass- Supporting YWCA of Kitsap County by ButterflySundries

OOAK Bracelet with Etched Lotus Flowers on Yellow Brass- Supporting YWCA of Kitsap County by ButterflySundries

What makes you think of hope, strength, beauty and the ability to overcome difficult circumstances? For me, the images which come to mind are of lotus flowers.

This beautiful pendant was inspired by those women who have the courage to, despite difficult circumstance, look within themselves to find their own strength and beauty… who discover their ability to embrace their power to stand up for their hopes, even in the ugliest of situations.

This bracelet is a special favorite of mine because I know that sometimes difficult experiences come into our lives more than once; I wanted to honor those women who find in themselves the strength to survive- even thrive- despite patterns of destructive relationships or circumstances.

Made from 20g yellow brass sheet metal, this bracelet link has been cut to size, had its rough edges smoothed while retaining a rustic appearance, and then it was polished. The design was hand-drawn, and then it was gently placed into an acid bath which ate away the undesired portions; for this piece, those steps were repeated to create a more layered effect. Finally it was antiqued to bring out the beauty revealed by its ordeal, two holes were drilled to allow it to be worn, and then it was polished. Strung on black cording, all the connections are handmade with yellow brass wire.

Brass does, of course, over time develop an attractive patina. This is part of the beauty of the material. It does have a thin protective layer of wax to protect it, but expect the beautiful patina to gradually appear.

The pendant measures at a little less than 1.5 inches (not including the brass wire connections); it’s width is a little less than .5 inches. The bracelet extends to about 7.5 inches, including the handmade clasp.

From beginning to end, this item is handmade with love… with all the attention you deserve!

This item comes with a FREE white gift box, for your gift-giving pleasure!

This item gives more! Because this item was inspired by YWCA of Kitsap County (like all of my Lotus Designs), one of my former Featured Charities, a portion of the proceeds still goes to support that program IN ADDITION TO the 10% which goes to the current Featured Charity. Wow; what an opportunity to support two charities with your purchase!
