These are a pair of lovely sterling silver fishhook earrings with antiqued pewter charms. These charms are inscribed in bas relief with a pretty flower design. These earrings are very light and won’t pull on the ears. The pewter charms are each an inch long, and all told the earrings are 1¾” long. As with all of our pieces that use pewter, the pewter in these emblems is lead-safe.

Labradorite in Suspension Sterling Silver Earrings

I took a trip to NYC’s Bead District a while back and picked up an array of semi-precious stones from a 36th Street shop. It was owned by a lovely little Hindu woman whose life story I got to hear while she took about twenty minutes to package up my items! These labradorite nuggets are my favorite of all that I bought that day. The photos really don’t do justice to the gorgeous blue-green shimmer that these stones possess; the light bounces off them beautifully, especially in the sunlight.

I was inspired to create this bracelet by something I saw in a wire working book recently. It’s a bold piece — perfect when you want your jewelry to make a statement — but lightweight and simple in design. Since I’m currently enrolled in a jewelry metalsmithing class, I soldered one point on the swirl to make the wire more stable and to use my newly developed skills.

Rusted Roses Whirly Necklace

I began working with sterling silver wire a couple summers ago after being inspired by the work of a silversmith in Savannah, GA. This particular pendant reminds me of the meandering path we tend to take in life, particularly as we navigate various relationships. And the romantic-ish colors of the beads — roses, pinks, coppers — leapt out at me when visiting a favorite bead shop in Baraboo, WI over the winter holidays. Put it all together and it’s all about how our hearts lead us all over the place in unexpected (but hopefully lovely) ways.
