The campgrounds at San Clemente State Beach (CA) have a great walking path that journeys past a wonderful amphitheater on one side and rows of RVs set up to enjoy a day’s surfing and sunning, a picnic lunch, and an evening’s lounging by the campfire. These postcards grew from the November day last year when i walked a little further on that path and found myself surrounded by a small grove of young eucalyptus trees flashing their rounded rustling leaves in the sun.

I have been reading articles and interviews on Etsy lately. I am a reasonably self-aware person but I must have some non-English language with which i communicate to myself in my head because I am always very impressed with the coherent (in English – i live in the U.S., where supposedly we only speak one language) and insightful way that others speak about themselves and their crafts when they are interviewed. So here’s a quick sentence (version 1) to answer a what’s-this-all-about? question regarding my Park Postcards : I enjoy mixing old and new things to create newer things that have a memory. I love working with a medium as flat and thin as a sheet of paper to conjure up the expansive and expanding feelings you experience when you are surrounded by the unique environments of our local, state, and national parks!
