Notes from the Artist:

Why choose to make a watch for the monthly challenge? I discovered that the charity of the month was autism speaks. One of the challenges for someone with high functioning Autism is to learn to tell the time. But its more complicated than that, it’s being able to equate what the time is with what’s going on around you as well. Time also links in with routine, (as far as I can tell), because its important to be able to organise yourself into a daily, weekly and monthly routine. When to eat, when to sleep, when to wash. Maybe even then, you may forget to look to see what the time is, so you may not do these routines at the same time each day. Even if you don’t, isn’t it strange that time goes by anyway, even if you are not watching it. This is only from a mother’s perspective though, my son probably disagrees with all I’ve said. He may say that its nothing to do with time at all, but then he is much smarter than me, and is more concerned with the speed of light! So it may be my artist’s mind that has conjured up a fantasy, that ‘time is important.’ none of us know how much of it we have left.

I wanted this gift of time to be pretty and ‘over the top’, which it is. I just hope someone out there will get the benefit of the watch as well as the charity, as it’s made with love.

Etsy for Charity Edition - Kid's Park Adventure Postcard Packet No.1 - Earth Day Tunnel - Crystal Cove SP

DayInThePark Kid’s Lined and PreStamped Postcards + Supporting Our Parks = Earth Day Gifts for the Young at Heart!

This is a set of 4 postcards and one bonus postcard, with postage already affixed.

In order to reach the not-to-be-missed Historic Distric at Crystal Cove State Park you either have to be dropped off by car, take a tram from the Los Trancos Parking lot across the street, or walk over. May I suggest the latter (if walking is not a health-risk for you) so that you can take the Beach Access trail that winds down a short hill from the Los Trancos Parking lot, and travels under well-known Pacific Coast Highway via a tunnel that has been decorated with paintings by wonderful Earth Day volunteers from years past. You and your kids will love it! These postcards capture a few of the bright mural images you will see on your walk to one of the best, most memorable, park places in California!

About this packet:
Give your kids, schoolkids, grandkids, or friends’ kids these bright easy-to-write-on-and-mail postcards, and you are sending them on their way to a life and love of writing! These postcards are ultra user-friendly, each pre-stamped with USPS postage and the 4 unstitched postcards are printed with an inviting photo-image block designating your message and address areas on the reverse side of the postcard. Additionally, 100% of the profits for these packets (less PayPal and Etsy fees) goes to Etsy for Charity’s Charity of the Month.

Details: This Park Postcard Packet contains a set of 4 colorful and different tunnel images Crystal Cove State Park postcards (My Park Adventures 2009, Earth Day Tunnel in this set) printed smooth-and-silkily on 10 mil matte photo stock and hand cut to 4″x6″ size along with 1 bonus machine-sewn picturesque 4″x6″ photo printed on either matte or glossy photo stock stitched in red thread to index card stock, for a perfectly paired postcard.
Each postcard is pre-stamped with 27¢ U.S. postage (Note: Accuracy of postage for delivery is not guaranteed. You must verify current United States National postage rates, and rules for standard size postcards before sending, to ensure delivery within the United States. April 2009 Challenge Entry – April showers bring Mays …Flower by FretzFotos

April showers bring Mays ...Flower

April showers bring Mays ...Flower

FretzFotos April showers bring May’s …”Flower”?

I know Walt Disney had a skunk named Flower in the wonderful creation “Bambi”, but during a family drive on a wet and rainy day in April, we happened upon this little muskrat who was out happily munching on some vegetation as the sun began to come out.

We had laughed and called it “Flower” because it had reminded us of it’s counterpart in the Disney movie!! I had to take a picture of it! It was just too cute and too funny!!

Photo Size – 8″x10″ (w or w/o extra white border to assist with framing)

April 2009 Challenge Entry – First Bed by WolfgangZehen

without comments

First Bed

First Bed

Wolfgangzehen ”Snuggy snuggy box
Big spaces scare me, not soft.
More adventures soon”

This is the first time I was able to capture a picture of Shukran (Arabic for “thank you”), then one month old – so young that her eyes were still blue. It was the day she arrived, the first time in her bed (formerly a small rock fountain base). She looks so young! It has nothing to do with being small; she looks like she’s been poked with a stick. That lasted for three months, and then, just sly evil or exhaustion took over.

4×6 color photo printed on Fujicolor Crystal Archive paper, shot with an HP Photosmart R847 camera.

Haiku printed on 100% recycled Ivory Granite paper.

Black or brown solid wood frames available; let me know your preference with your order. Shown in black frame.

Frame hangs on wall or stands up on shelf/table.

Frame measures 9 3/8 high x 7 3/8 wide.
100% of the sale proceeds will be donated to Etsy for Charity (EFC) Charity of the Month.

April 2009 Challenge Entry – Momo Flowers by Mikiye Creations

Momo Flowers

Momo Flowers

Mikiye Momo Flower

This exotic earring set is from my Orient Express Collection. Delightful and seductive, Momo Flower is a mixture of Lampwork beads, Swarovski crystal and Sterling Silver wire and chain. The delicate nature of this design as well as how much it moves and sparkles is difficult to convey in the pictures. (this design is soo beautiful in person) Divinely femine this is an amazing accessory for any outfit. I used official Blue Fire Lampwork beads. The quality of their lampwork beads is amazing.
Approximately 4 inches long.
Packaged nicely in a box with pretty ribbon for give giving.
